National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Updates and Arc Flash Calculations

ABOUT THE MEETING:   Explore the recent updates and changes in the 2023 version of the National Electrical Safety Code Handbook (NESC, IEEE Std. C2-2023). This workshop will also cover two effective methods for conducting arc flash calculations on utility services.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:  Dave Hernandez is among the nation’s top experts in the Power & Energy industry serving as a distinguished Professional Engineer licensed in 52 U.S. jurisdictions. He has held responsible charge of over 25,000 electrical projects throughout his 17-year career. Dave is an IEEE Senior Member where he holds several leadership positions across the organization. He has been published four times in IEEE transactions and five times in Electrical Safety Magazine.

MENU SELECTIONS: (UPDATED)  Buffet Menu: Brown Sugar & Honey Glazed Ham, Baked Chicken Breast with Pesto Cream Sauce, Buttered Noodles, Green Beans Seasoned with Caramelized Onions, Tossed Garden Salad, Dinner Rolls with Butter & Margarine, Seasonal Desserts.  Soft drinks, coffee, tea & lemonade.   Alcohol is available for a fee.

LOCATION:  Raffel’s is located at 10160 Reading Road, south of Glendale-Milford Road on the east side of Reading. Take I-75 to the Glendale-Milford Rd. Exit, go east on Glendale-Milford Road approximately ¾ of a mile to Reading Rd. and turn right on Reading.

Cost is $15 for members advanced registration.  Non-members and unregistered member cost is $20 cash at the door.

WALK-INS (those without reservations): You are welcome to attend this meeting and/or enjoy the dinner even if you did not register in advance. Walk-ins are welcome for the meeting, but dinner reservations must pre-register!

PE CREDITS:  Depending on the subject matter, attendance at IEEE Cincinnati Section Meetings now qualifies the attendee for Professional Development Hours towards renewal of Professional Engineers Licenses.  Required documentation will be available following the meeting if qualified!  The Section Meetings also provide a great opportunity to network with fellow engineers in the area.
