Medium voltage switchgear used for the distribution of electrical energy is a very important element of electrical networks the function of which is to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the whole network. With the integration of MV sensors for current and voltage measurement combined with the latest design of protective relays as well as with the utilization of IEC 61850 communication means for signal distribution within the switchgear; we can show how digital switchgear can save you time, reduce your cost of ownership, and give you a level of flexibility not found anywhere before.

Dan Vettraino is currently a Regional Business Development Manager / Application Engineer at ABB Inc. Dan provides pre-sales technical one-line review and design assistance for 38KV to 480V electrical distribution systems. Dan also supports services with arc mitigating and current limiting solutions. Dan’s educational background includes bachelor’s degrees BSEE and master’s degree both in electrical engineering from Northeastern University.
