ABOUT THE MEETING:
Human interaction with the internet is moving beyond keyboards and computers. Mr. David Stacy from Amazon Web Services will describe and demonstrate how Amazon is using its Echo products and Alexa assistant to implement speech recognition and response in commercial and consumer spaces. He will describe the backend hardware and software technologies such as Lex and Polly that support these capabilities, and share Amazon’s vision of future technologies and applications.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
David Stacy is a senior consultant with Amazon Web Services, specializing in DevOps, IoT and cloud migrations. Although David grew up in Michigan, he has been a longtime member of the Cincinnati IT community working at places like Digineer, Seapine Software, GE, and startups Roadtrippers.com and Cordata. David lives with his family in Maineville, OH.

WALK-INS (those without reservations): You are welcome to attend this meeting and/or enjoy the dinner even if you did not register in advance. Walk-ins pay a higher $15 dinner fee. Raffel’s determines our cost based on the number of plates used; if you choose to have dinner, please pay the fee if you eat even if you arrive late or didn’t pre-register.
PE CREDITS: Depending on the subject matter, attendance at IEEE Cincinnati Section Meetings now qualifies the attendee for Professional Development Hours towards renewal of Professional Engineers Licenses. Required documentation will be available following the meeting if qualified! The Section Meetings also provide a great opportunity to network with fellow engineers in the area.
