ABOUT THE MEETING: A Professional Engineering License issued by the state of Ohio is required for certain engineering work. This special presentation by Mr. John F. Greenhalge of the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors will cover requirements for obtaining and maintaining your Professional License. Topics to be covered include:

  • Why have a PE License?
  • Overview of the Board continuing education requirement
  • Overview of the Board’s Code of Ethics and common problems/violations that are encountered
  • The Board’s investigation process and how it affects Ohio’s registrants
  • Important information for maintaining your license

Continuing professional development credit will be granted for Registered PE’s.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: John F. Greenhalge is the Executive Director of the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. John has been with the Board since 1998, previously serving as the Board’s Enforcement Supervisor and as the Assistant Executive Director. Prior to joining the Board John worked as an investigator for the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s office and as a loss prevention and human resources investigator for Sears Roebuck & Co.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Ashland University. John has served on numerous national committees for the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) including the Committee on Law Enforcement, the NCEES Leadership Task Force and the Member Board Administrators Committee and is currently serving as Chair of the 2015-2016 NCEES Committee on Law Enforcement. John is also a recipient of the NCEES Distinguished Service Award for outstanding service to the Central Zone, NCEES and the engineering and surveying profession.

REGISTRATION: The IEEE Cincinnati Section will be providing pizza and bottled water for this meeting. Registration must be by Midnight, Tuesday March 8, 2016. Please use the IEEE Cincinnati Section registration system (https://ieeecincinnati.org/meetings/). The system is available if the text “Click Here to Register” is displayed in large red letters on a yellow background. After selecting “Click here to Register”, select “Register and pay the fee…” if you wish to attend the dinner at 6:00pm, or select “Register only (skip optional fee)” if you only wish to attend the presentation at 7:00pm.

Members: Please enter your IEEE Membership number when registering. Please enter only the digits. Experienced members might have to add leading zeros to properly enter their membership number. Use the Drop-down box on the Registration page to select Member or Non-member Dinner. The system will not allow you to select Member Dinner if you have entered the wrong IEEE Membership number or if you have typed anything other than the digits.

WALK-INS (those without reservations): You are welcome to attend this meeting even if you did not register in advance. Please refrain from eating the pizza dinner until we confirm there is enough for those who did register.
